    Quick Facts

    Best Known For

Michael C., born Michael Sidney Caston on the south side of Chicago, was blessed with music in his soul. Like many toddlers, he created a makeshift drum set from his mother's pots and pans when he was 5 years old. As a teenager his first paying jobs were playing drums with local cover bands but then the gospel world snatched him up. By the time he was 15, he was getting paid to drum for the New Friendship Baptist Church. He played drums with legendary gospel groups including: The Clark Sisters, Mighty Clouds of Joy, and Rev. James Cleveland, to name a few. After graduating from high school Michael C. joined the U.S. Army. He was stationed in CO Springs at Fort Carson. While serving in the military, Michael C. was privileged to be asked to perform in a U.S.O. show for service men and women. After the Army, Michael played right corner back defensive on the practice team for the Denver Broncos for a year until an injury set him back. He then began to focus more on his vocals and became more serious about pursuing his dream of becoming a professional vocalist and performer. It didn't take long for word to spread about this dynamic and energetic performer. Critics and fans alike couldn't deny the versatile, passionate, seductive, and sensual sound of Michael C.'s vocals. Often times he was, and continues to be, compared to Marvin Gaye and Luther Vandross - artists who inspired and influenced him in his youth and young adult years. Michael C. is a gifted and experienced vocalist who has established himself as the ultimate front man with his engaging performance style that draws the audience in. Lucky for us he has been performing with Soul X for almost 9 years!
